The Rev. Jimmy Womack is serving his first term in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 7th House District in the city of Detroit.
Rep. Womack has earned a seat on five House Committees. Womack serves as Vice Chair of the House Families and Children's Services Committee. He also sits on the Commerce, Health Policy, Insurance, and Urban Policy committees.
Rep. Womack is a retired anesthesiologist who has always been active in his community. He formerly served as the President of the Detroit Board of Education. In addition, he has worked as a mentor for young African-American men and created the non-profit organization Coalition Inc., which focuses on reducing morbidity and mortality in the community.
